BackHome BioTec is a simple yet comprehensive microchipping solution which provides complete microchipping solution to your clients.
BackHome BioTec microchips conform to ISO standard
- BackHome BioTec microchips can be read by all scanners conforming to the ISO standard. They are made of a coil and a microchip contained inside a bio-compatible glass capsule of medical grade. They remain inert until a microchip scanner activates them.
- BackHome BioTec microchip code numbers have a manufacturer code (900) followed by a unique 12-digit number.
BackHome database
- As part of the initial purchase price, BackHome BioTec provides lifelong registration on the Petlog database – the UK’s largest independent microchip registration and pet reunification database.
- Each box of BackHome BioTec microchips contains a leaflet explaining how to register animals on the Petlog database – either instantly on-line, via PMS or by using the supplied postal forms.
- The Petlog database is operated 24 hours a day for lost and found pets through one telephone number: +44 (0) 844 4633 999 or online.
Changing details
- It is very easy to change details on the Petlog database. This can be done by the pet owner by using the same telephone and website details. A small charge is made whenever changes are required to a pet’s records. However if the pet is on the Petlog Premium Lifetime Service then no charge is made for amendments.

BackHome scanner
- The BackHome BioTec microchip scanner uses the FDX-B system and is compatible with the ISO Standard required by the Pet Travel Scheme (11784/11785).
- The scanner is easy-to-use – its small size means it is non-threatening to animals and makes the scanning of unidentified animals much more convenient.
BackHome BioTec package
- Each box of BackHome BioTec microchips contains:
- 10 microchips & disposable implanters in sterile sachets (with barcode labels)
- 10 Pet owner packs, fridge magnets and metallic collar tags showing that a pet is microchipped.
- 10 registration forms and envelopes
- Instruction leaflet for the practice
- Reply-paid card for the acknowledgement of chips received (for 100% safe registration with the back-tracking of chips to each practice).
