BackHome^® BioTec microchips can be read by all scanners conforming to the ISO standard.

When passed over the pet, the scanner emits electromagnetic waves which induce an electrical pulse in the chip’s coil, providing the energy to emit a radiowave which is in turn received by the scanner. A unique 15 digit number is then displayed which can be used to trace the identity of the pet and owner. Through Petlog, the UK’s largest independent microchip registration and pet reunification database lost and found pets can be reunited with their owners, 24 hours a day.

Scanners are small and compact and therefore ideal for use on horses.
